How to Use a Remote Monitor with Photoshop

Hello Tony

I saw your article on multi monitors and it was very interesting for me

specially your remarks “I found a way to turn that laptop into a second external monitor though, and it didn’t require any extra hardware.”

I am facing the same situation and I want to use my old laptop to be a dual monitor for my Photoshop / Lightroom application

Can I get your advise how to do it (without enter to programming status)

I would like to use my laptop screen to display the tools of the Photoshop

My main computer is running XP and it is not a new computer and the video card is Intel on board

Thank you

Hi there. The only software I know of that does that is MaxiVista. It’ll work perfectly for what you describe.

It’s not great, however, at updating bitmaps. In other words, you wouldn’t want to use it as your main Photoshop display (especially while doing transformations), and it might be a bit slow if you use it for Lightroom previews.

Well, give it a shot and let me know how it worked for you.

Tony
