i was unintalling and deleting programs that i no longer used and I accidentally deleted my activex control and my java, now it will not let me download, install or do anything. i can not even listen to music or watch videos anymore on my new computer. i have tried to install and download activex and jave multiple times but it keeps giving me an error message. can someone please help me? im desperate! thanks!

Hi,
I am using the window vista business edition while my browser is in the protected mode on i can able to view all activex pages while its in off i can’t so please suggest me how to enable the active’x in the browser in vista os.

I had the same problem, and got no response when sending e-mails to the qa@vistaclues.com. What I ended up doing that worked was disabling the user accounts (control panel, user accounts), and installing the ActiveX. (Also make sure your browser security settings allow ActiveX installs. Then after installing ActiveX, I enabled the user accounts again.

Is the ActiveX installer only available in certain versions of Vista? I need to use it in the Home Premium edition. Any ideas?

I also tried to follow the instructions above but failed at the first hurdle …….. there is no check box or indeed an entry in the windows features dialog box for Active x installer service …… how on earth can I enable activex on my computer …. all I am asking is to simply download Java … a basic program that every computer needs and I can’t because of this active x problem … so far I have spent 2 hours trying to find out what to do and when I get a solution I am stopped before I start as the instructions do not tally with what I have on my computer …. please please can you help

I tried to follow your above direction to get “ActiveX” Installer.
But, there was none also was no AxInstSV.
