When you perform the custom installation of Windows Vista, Windows Vista creates a Windows.old folder that contains the files from the Microsoft Windows XP installation.

So all your programs, music, pictures etc are in the Windows.old folder. You can just copy your music & picture files to the Vista folders.

Else try the following Microsoft link to help you restore

And for other Microsoft Vista related queries you can take a look at http://support.microsoft.com/ph/11732

It has all that you need to know about Vista.

Cheers !!
