Vista always downloads ALL photos from the camera. It does NOT recognize that it had downloaded some of the photos previously. Is there a work-around for this issue?
Appreciate any help.

I'm new at Vista and have been used to XP. When I try to open CDs and DVDs the way I used to by going to computer and opening the drive from its icon there's no icon there representing the DVD drive. I tried changing the autoplay options, but still nothing happens when I put the disk in the drive.

Tony: i tryed help from Microsoft site and got tired of the run around, then i found your site.
two problems in particular:
1. all my desktop icons desappear everytime i restart the computer (including when the computer goes to sleep). when i check they are still ticked as "show desktop", i then have to tick them off and re-do it for them to show again.
2. when i go to "pictures" and double click on a photo, it opens it with "word" and shows numbers and signs intead of the picture. the old system used to open with picture manager or something (as far as i remember). this is still the first option if you right click on the photo and i thought should be the default. whats going on????
where can can i find answers for these issues...?
thanks mate, I would be great if you can point me in the right direction, cheers

Managing photos in Vista is nice for housewifes and 80+ oldies, but not for serious people. I want the XP Import Wizard back and want to be able to view my pictures in the File Explorer again.
Who knows a good tool to manage photos?

Hi,
I have a similar problem.
Previously, when i used to connect my digital camera to my laptop, the autoplay option used to show and trasfering pictures was a breeze.
But now, no autoplay option shows and windows asks for a driver. When I try to install the driver its says that it is not compatible or not required.
Please help!!
