Question:
I installed windows vista on my laptop computer and the computer desktop shrunk and got very small.
How can I fix this problem?
Answer:
Hi, Petra. Sounds like your resolution is set wrong. This should be set automatically, but you know how that goes. :)
No worries. This is an easy fix:
1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. Under Appearance and Personalization, click Adjust screen resolution.
3. Drag the Resolution slider to the right. It should probably go all the way to the right, but you can check your computer’s hardware specs to find out what the correct resolution should be. For now, just drag it all the way to the right–if it doesn’t work, it’ll automatically reset your settings.
4. Click Apply, make sure the settings are OK, and then click OK. If you can’t see your screen at any time, just wait a few seconds, and it’ll come back.
If you don’t see higher resolutions in that dialog box, you might need to download the latest video drivers for your computer. Visit the computer manufacturer’s website (for example, dell.com if you have a dell) and browse the support section or the downloads section to find an updated video driver for Vista. After you install it, it should automatically set your resolution correctly. If it doesn’t, repeat the above steps.
Good luck!
thank you this was useful!
Worked well, thanks for the tip.
