Lifehacker offered a post about how to use your My Pictures folder as a screensaver in Windows XP. Here are the steps to do that in Vista:
1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. Click Appearance and Personalization.

3. Under Personalization, click Change screen saver.

4. The Screen Saver Settings dialog appears. Click the Screen saver list, and then click Photos.

5. Optionally, click the Settings button to adjust the default settings, or click the Preview button to watch how it works.
6. Click OK to save your settings.
The screen saver provides a variety of different techniques for fading between pictures, and can even stack pictures on top of each other. It reminds me of Windows Photo Story. If you have multiple monitors, it’ll only show on one, unfortunately. For dual-monitor support, check out Ultramon.
Fortunately, I have all my pictures organized into folders. Unfortunately, there is no option to include sub folders. Anyone have any ideas?
Daniel, it uses sub-folders by default.
The problem I’m encountering with using my own photos is that all my images are being stretched to full screen size. How can I keep them in their original size?
Help, I can get the photo screen saver to work for one user, but not another user on the same computer- I did it the same way, but it only comes up as black and won’t show any of the pictures. Any ideas? Thanks
Have Vista home, can’t get screen saver to work, not matter what I try, need help.

I have done the setup just as discribed, When it is time for the SS to come on The pointer jumps but nothing happens. When setting it up the preview works fine?????. I have all my pictures in folders. I am using a picture for my background. any Ideas.
I’ve tried this too, but nothing happens … just a black screen.
hi, i was wondering if you where able to fix your problem with the screen saver and how you did it , im having the same problem i get a black screen instead of my pictures. thank you
It worked! Thanx…BUT (don’t you hate that word!) pictures are showing up as 1 OR 2 to a page and filling the screen. Can I change this?
Also, how do you see the answers to comments on this page? I think my answer would have been the same as comment from John, but couldn’t see answer?
